Lenexa Midnight Bike & Hike
The Lenexa Optimist Club is again partnering with the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department to present the 16th Annual Lenexa Midnight Bike & Hike.

The 2011 Midnight Bike Ride has been rescheduled for Friday July 15.

Rides the streets! Hike the trail!

We'll ride the streets of Lenexa starting at midnight.
This year's ride route starts and ends at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints, 21515 W. 101st Street.

 

Cyclists can take a break during the ride and enjoy an optional moonlight walk along the trail to the award-winning Lake Lenexa dam spillway.

Friday, July 15, 2011
Join hundreds of cyclists on the night of Friday, July 15, 2011 for the 16th annual Lenexa Midnight Bike & Hike. Enjoy a fun filled evening riding on Lenexa streets. Ride starts at midnight. The Lenexa Midnight Bike Ride is a family-oriented bicycle ride and is excellent for cyclists of all ages.

Ride the Streets
Due to construction in Black Hoof Park, this year's ride route starts and ends at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 21515 W. 101st St. Route travels along Lone Elm Road, Prairie Star Parkway, across Monticello Road's distinctive lighted bridge to Black Hoof Park, on the frontage roads along Highways K- 7 and K-10 returning to Lone Elm Road. This route is a 6 mile ride; those wanting more mileage can repeat a 4 mile section of the route. The duration of the ride is the only limit; final loop must be started by 1am. The route provides a safe, closed course for riders. Route maps will be available at the Lenexa Community Center and on this site. (Click here for route map).

Hike the Trail
Cyclists can take a break during the ride and enjoyan optional moonlight walk along the trail to the award-winning Lake Lenexa dam spillway. The round trip walk is 1.5 miles. Cyclists must complete the hike and start remainder of ride no later than 1:30am. Bike racks will be available at the hike location. Due to logistics, hike is open only to registered cyclists.

Pancake Feed
Following the ride, stay for the optional all-you-can-eat Chris Cakes pancakes. Pancake feed is an additional $6 payable in advance or at the door.
